The South East Area’s Summer Ball returned for the first time since the pandemic. It was held at the Maritime Club in Portsmouth on Saturday 21st June 2023 and was a great success, raising a staggering sum of £4,800 for the 2027 Festival which is supporting the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF).
It was a fun-filled evening with a live band, DJ, caricature artist, table magic, and a photo booth.
Luc Semmens and his wife Sam, along with the events team, organised the event and arranged an auction with 5 amazing prizes including a glider experience followed by a £1 raffle for over 65 amazing donated prizes then finished with a £10 Raffle for 6 premium prizes all worth more than £190 each. All this led to the outstanding sum of £4,800 being raised on the night by all those who attended.
Following the Loyal Toast, Luc thanked his wife Sam for helping to organise the evening and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
Steve Brewster, the incoming SE Area Chairman, then thanked both Barrie Hewitt who is stepping down as APGM, and Terry Stephens the retiring Area Chairman, for their work leading Area Executive over the past 6 years, and presented both their wife’s with bouquets of flowers.
The APGM Barrie Hewitt then closed by thanking Luc and Sam and the hard-working Events team for a wonderful evening and all those brethren, families and friends who gave so generously on the night.
