Solent Masons attended the annual Field of Remembrance Service at Carisbrooke Castle, Newport.
The Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VWbro David Perkis and Assistant Provincial Grand Master Adrian Cleightonhills, were accompanied by members of Vectis Services Lodge for this superb event at the lovely Carisbrooke Castle.
After the service which included the Last Post and two minute silence, civic and military dignitaries, our DPGM, APGM, veterans, cadet forces and school children placed wooden crosses in order to pay their respects to those who “gave all” for their country.
On display at the event were two Masonic standards. The Solent Area Standard which was carried by WM of VSL, WBro Chris Bartlett, and the new Vectis Services Lodge standard carried by WBro Geoff Smith. Both looked very smart amongst the other standards on parade.
There followed tea, coffee and cakes served by the local WI in the Castle Museum.
All in all a lovely ceremony of Remembrance in beautiful surroundings.
