North East Area Toy Donation

The North East Area Charity Steward has recently been able to donate a considerable number of toys to two very deserving charities in the Area. This is an initiative, organised by W.Bro. Robert Ings of Twynham Lodge No 5889, has been very successful for several years.  We are all most grateful for his continued efforts.

Both charities were extremely grateful for the donations, and they will be putting the toys to good use.  The toys were donated to the Area and come from stocks of returned goods, slightly damaged packaging, or didn’t sell in volume through retail. Safe to say they will be valued by all those involved.

Genies Wish (https://www.genieswish.co.uk/)
The Genie’s Wish is a UK registered charity whose mission is to enhance the lives of people aged 0-40 years, living in England and Wales, who are suffering from a critical or terminal illness or living with a life-limiting medical condition.  Genie’s Wish bring respite and joy into the lives of those they work with and their families, by providing a life-changing wish, experience, or ongoing opportunity. They also provide wish experiences, bespoke events, and activities for young carers, aged 5-16, in recognition of the bravery, kindness, and selflessness they display daily by caring for a family member.  Cherry Tree Lodge No. 8749 has already given a donation to this great cause. Reenforcing the support and good works that Masonic Lodges can provide in the local area.

Project94 (https://www.projectninetyfour.com/)
ProjectNinetyFour provides enrichment and development opportunities to youth in the East Hampshire area (Whitehill and Bordon). They offer youths an opportunity to create and shape their own unique experiences through our wide range of educational and leadership activities.  This Charity was recommended by Bro. Tom Hutchinson of Woolmer Forest Lodge No. 3872.

A further donation is planned for Scratch (Christmas Toys Appeal) in December. The Area Charity Steward, W.Bro. Andrew Pople, would like to hear from you if you know of local charities that may be able to benefit from future toy donations (andrewpople@me.com). Charities working with children should be considered for this wonderful initiative.
