Jonathan (Jon) Whitaker joined Elvetham Lodge No.4013 in 1987 and was Master in 1993 and 2013. He served as a Provincial Steward (1995), Provincial Junior Warden in 2000, then as a Group Area Representative (2005-11). He was appointed an Assistant Provincial Grand Master in 2011, then as Deputy Provincial Grand Master in 2018. Jon was appointed Provincial Grand Master in 2020. At Grand Lodge he serves as Deputy President of the Board and a member of the Grand Masters Council. Jon is an active member of the Companion Orders. He has worked as an HR professional throughout his career and still undertakes part time consultancy. He volunteers for the Magistracy, St John Ambulance and ex-Service organisations. Jon is a Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire and currently the High Sheriff.
David was initiated into Vectensian Lodge No.7852, Ryde, IoW in 1982 and was installed as Master in 1993. He was appointed a Provincial Grand Steward in 1993 and was invested as Master of the Stewards’ Lodge in 2004. David was appointed Group rep for the Isle of Wight, followed by appointment to Assistant Provincial Grand Master with responsibility for forming the Solent Area in 2012. David was appointed Deputy Provincial Grand Master in 2020. A retired engineer and Motor Trader David is the Chairman of Bembridge Garage ltd.
Ian was initiated into The Elizabethan Lodge No.7262 in January 1980 and was Master in 1996. He was Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies for 10 years from 2010 and was appointed Assistant Provincial Grand Master in 2021. He was a business risk consultant prior to retirement.
Adrian was initiated into Spithead Lodge No.6719 in 1995 and became Master in 2004. He was a founder member of Pax Hill Lodge No.9878 in 2012 and Spinnaker Lodge No.9932 in 2016 becoming Master the following year. He was Provincial Senior Warden in 2014 and appointed as Assistant Provincial Grand Master in 2020. He is a retired Police Officer.
Chris joined Freemasonry in 1995, when he was Initiated into the Lodge of Unity No.132 (when they met in the annexe of Bournemouth Masonic Hall). The Lodge moved back to Ringwood in 1999 and Chris became Master in 2001. He retired in 2018 having run a local Home Improvement Business for 33 years.
Chris was initiated into Fareham Lodge No 8582 in 2002 and became Master in 2009. He was appointed a Provincial Grand Steward in 2011, and, as well as two other active Provincial ranks in between, was appointed Provincial Senior Grand Warden for the Province in 2017. He is being appointed Assistant Provincial Grand Master at the Provincial AGM in 2023. Chris works in the Financial Services industry, currently in a compliance role.
Paul was initiated into The Lodge of Humility No.8464 in 2001 and installed as Master in 2007. He was appointed a Provincial Grand Steward in 2010 and was invested as Master of the Stewards’ Lodge in 2017 also achieving the Grand Rank of PAGSuptWks in the same year. Paul was appointed an Area Chairman in 2018 and Assistant Provincial Grand Master at the Provincial AGM in 2024. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor Paul is a Director of McPhersons, a local QS practice.
Duncan was initiated into Aldershot Army & Navy Lodge No.1971 in 2002 and was installed as Master in 2009. He was appointed as a Provincial Grand Steward in 2011 and has held four other active provincial appointments. He served for 25 years with the Parachute Regiment and is currently the Director of Operations of Carey England Ltd a corporate chauffeur drive and ground transportation solutions company based in London.
David was initiated in Bordon Garrison Lodge No.7538 (Bordon) 2003 and was Master in 2010, joined Medina Lodge No.35 (Cowes) in 2013. He was appointed Provincial Grand Steward in 2012, Provincial Deputy Grand Chaplain in 2013, Provincial Grand Chaplain in 2019 and Past Assistant Grand Chaplain in 2023. He is a Clerk in Holy Orders (retired) with the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Portsmouth.
Richard was initiated into the Lodge of Chivalry No.5685 in 1996 and was Master from 2006 to
2008. He was appointed Provincial Grand Steward in 2009 and Provincial Junior Grand Deacon in
2013, and promoted to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2018. He is a retired Chartered
Accountant.
John was initiated into James E Bullen Lodge No.9273 in January 2007 and was installed as Master in 2012. He joined Richard Bond Lodge 8281 in November 2011 and was installed as Master in 2014. He became Provincial Grand Registrar in 2018. He practises as a solicitor in Portsmouth.
David was Initiated in Gateway Lodge No.8474 in 1988 and became Master 2001. David worked predominantly in the power industry ending as an Operations Manager and retired in January 2022.
Bill was initiated into Prince of Wales Lodge No. 1705 in 1999 and was installed as Master in 2006. He was a founding member of Football Lodge No. 9921 in 2016. He was appointed a Provincial Grand Steward in 2008, Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2013, Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2015. In 2019 he was appointed as Past Assistant Grand Sword Bearer. He has enjoyed a career in the Royal Navy Submarine Service and now works as a consultant in the Security Industry.
Nick was initiated into Eling Manor Lodge No. 7337, in 2005 and was installed as Master in 2013. He was appointed a Provincial Senior Grand Deacon in 2020 and in 2021 and was installed as Master of Wilfrid Attenborough Lodge, 7672, in 2017. Nick was appointed as Area Superintendent of Works for the South Central Area in 2018 and appointed Provincial Grand Superintendent of Works in 2024. As a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Building Surveying Director in Savills.
Malcolm was initiated into Shirley Lodge No.1112 in 1973 and was Master in 1986. Founding Secretary of Prytaneion Lodge No.9240, he was Master in 2008. He was appointed Provincial Grand Almoner in 2022. He is a retired Senior Fire Officer and former Senior Inspector in the Sports Grounds Safety Authority.
John joined St Vincent Lodge No.5295 in 2008 and was installed as Master in November 2014. He was also the founding treasurer of Spinnaker Lodge No.9932. In 2017 he was appointed a Provincial Grand Steward and in 2018 he was appointed the Fundraising Chairman of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge No.9263, a post he served for three years. John runs his own IT company.
Sean was initiated into Royal Gloucester Lodge No.130 in 2000 and was installed as Master in 2010. He was appointed as a Provincial Grand Steward in 2012 and as Provincial Senior Grand Warden in 2016. He has been active within Membership roles for several years, including three years as SCA MO. A Civil Engineer, Sean is a Director of a local multi-disciplined engineering company.
Roger was initiated into James E. Bullen Lodge No.9273 in 2003 and was installed as Master in 2008. He was a founding member of Spinnaker Lodge No.9932. Roger was appointed Provincial Senior Warden in 2019 and appointed as Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2021. He is a retired advertising and PR executive.
Roy was initiated into Anton Lodge No 6953 in 1992 and installed as Master in 2001. He was appointed to active Provincial Deputy Grand Superintendent of Works in 2007, received Grand Rank in 2012 and was Assistant Provincial Grand Master 2016/18. A Founder Senior Warden to Lodge of Brevity No 9903 he is a retired Construction Business Development Manager.
James was initiated in to Caer Peris Lodge No.8437 in 2004. When it handed its warrant back he joined Cathedral Lodge Portsmouth No.7753 in 2009 where he served as Master in 2013. James was appointed as a Provincial Grand Steward in 2015 and as an a Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2017. He is a Senior Manager in Her Majesty’s Prison Service and works at their HQ leading on mental health.
