Brethren,
As we head towards Christmas and the end of another year, I just wanted to send you my very best wishes and a genuine thank you.
Freemasonry is, at its heart, about people. It’s about friendship, support, and looking out for one another, and I continue to be impressed by the way Brethren across our Lodges quietly get on with exactly that. The time you give, the help you offer, and the sense of togetherness you create make a real difference — not just within the Craft, but in everyday life too.
Christmas gives us a chance to pause and reflect, and it’s a good reminder of the values we share: kindness, understanding, tolerance, and goodwill. These aren’t things we only think about at this time of year — they’re values you live by throughout the year, and you should be proud of that.
Thank you for everything you do, often behind the scenes and without any fuss. It’s a pleasure to share this journey with you.
I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas, spent with family and friends, and I wish you good health and happiness in the year ahead.
Finally, looking ahead to the New Year, we’ll be in touch next month about Building Together. We’ll be explaining how it offers different elements for different Lodge officers, how it can be used in a way that suits your own Lodge, and to reassure everyone that it is not compulsory. At its heart, it’s very much about “Your Lodge, your Future”, and the South East Area teams will be there to support you in making the most of it.
Yours sincerely and fraternally
W Bro Chris Bayliss PSGD
